Have the truck?
Need the whole move?

Labor-only moving help covers loading or unloading a truck you arrange. A truck-and-crew move includes transportation. Choose the scope before comparing movers in Montgomery.

Labor-only loading and unloading

This can suit a rented truck, a storage container or a move where you handle the drive. The critical question is what the crew brings and where its responsibility ends.

  • Confirm whether the job includes loading, unloading or both. A destination crew may be a separate booking.
  • Ask who provides the ramp, dollies, blankets, straps and tools.
  • Ask whether the crew secures the load for transport and how loading damage is handled.
  • Give the rental truck or container dimensions and any arrival window. Late equipment can affect a reserved crew.

If you're booking through a labor marketplace, read that platform's rules as well as the mover's. Don't assume a local company participates in a particular platform.

A truck and moving crew

When a mover handles transport, confirm the route, inventory, crew size and truck capacity together. Ask whether one trip is expected and what happens if the inventory grows.

“Full service” does not automatically include every box being packed or every bed being assembled. Specify packing, unpacking and furniture work separately. One Montgomery-area mover's published FAQ, for example, discusses assembly and disassembly as part of its service. That is a provider-specific policy, not an industry-wide inclusion.

Packing help

Describe which rooms or items need packing, who supplies materials, and whether packing happens before moving day. Set aside medicines, identity documents, valuables and first-night essentials that should travel with you.

When a move crosses a state line

Say so at the first conversation. Interstate moves need a different estimate and verification process from a short local move. The FMCSA Protect Your Move resources are a starting point for checking interstate movers and understanding your rights. State and federal requirements can differ; a local guide cannot verify a mover for you.

One brief for every estimate

Use the same route, inventory and access information with each company. Then ask them to explain any difference in crew, equipment, coverage and charges.
